  My elderly parents’ home had been all but covered with damp and mould for the last two years because of the soaking wet insulation that they had. First choice energy were the only company to not try and scam my parents out of ridiculous amounts of money for insulation removal. The surveyor was friendly and efficient, and they had it removed within 2 weeks the boys doing the removal were so professional and friendly too!!!   Really good job done by the boys removing old cavity wall insulation from my one of my properties. Quick to response when I reached out to them and Steve surveyed the property the same day. Already the damp problems in my house have improved massively. The team went the extra mile to make sure everything was done correctly and even washed down the windows and doors.   Amazing Service, my old boiler broke down and I didn't really have the money for a new one. My friend told me about first choice energy and I gave them a call. They were highly professional and led me through the process of eco boilers.

The cherry on top was when they told me that I qualified for a free brand new boiler through a government grant scheme. They came around the same week, and fitted the boiler in no time, whilst upholding COVID safety measures.

So I got a brand new boiler, for free, in a week.

What is the GBIS SCHEME?

The GBIS (Great British Insulation Scheme) scheme is a government-backed program aimed at offering homeowners free insulation upgrades.

Who can qualify for the gbis scheme?

Homeownership: Applicants must own their property (not applicable to rented properties).
Loft Insulation: The property should have less than 150mm of loft insulation.
Either Route 1 or Route 2:
- Route 1 (For Properties in Wales):
  - The property must fall into Council tax bands A, B, C, D, E.
  - Verify your Council Tax band using this link: Check Council Tax Band
- Route 2:
  - The applicant must be in receipt of a qualifying benefit.
EPC Rating:
- The property should have an EPC rating of E, F, G, or not have an EPC.

What's included in the GBIS Loft insulation grant?

Your loft insulation will be increased to the recommended 270mm, bringing it up to top-notch standards. And that’s not all – we’ll also install full-house ventilation, including extraction fans and trickle vents, to keep your home free from damp and mould.
